Hundreds of millions still live in extreme poverty without a safety net

DDespite progress, a large share of the world's population survives on very little and lacks any social protection when shocks hit. SDG 1 aims to end extreme poverty and build social protection systems so families can absorb economic, climate, and health shocks. Without reliable cash transfers and inclusion systems, poverty traps persist across generations.
